I agree with you. There is also a lack in the definition of viral advertisment. In my point of view REAL viral advertisement springs up of a whole viral planed campaign like IKEA and other seem to succeed viral more likely by coincedence. What do you think?

Some really good examples there. I think the John West and Subservient Chicken ones are much more like viral ads than the Nike and Kylie ones which conform more to standard advertising norms.
