How it works

First, download the Custom CSS plugin, extract and upload it. Activate it and you are good to go. Now all you have to do is create a folder called “custom-css” as a sub folder in your theme’s main directory. Like that:

In there you can now upload all the custom style-sheets that you might need for a page or post in your blog/site. Add or edit a post or a page and you will see a small list of the available style-sheets in the “custom-css” folder. Select it, update your post and that’s it.

Facebook Fan box

This plugin allows users to add a fan box to their blog. The fan-box will appear as a sidebar widget. To use this module, you can simply create a fan page on Facebook, you will receive a unique key identifying your profile API and you’re done!

Fotobook

Fotobook lets users can access Facebook account and import photos, then link these images you can use on their blog. In this section, users can import photos from multiple Facebook account and displays these images on the sidebar. It is an easy instrument to use Ajax manage photo albums. Note: This link does not work with Wordpress 2.8.

WP-FacebookConnect

WP-FacebookConnect adds features to Wordpress with the Facebook Connect API. It provides single sign-on to your Facebook account to post comments on news content, a profile of Facebook, and use images as avatars comment.

Feed Facebook

This plugin creates a separate power supply on Facebook. If you do not like, such as Facebook face your blog feeds, you can then use this plugin to forage for Facebook to summaries only.

Facebook Dashboard Widget

This plugin uses Wordpress widget to attract and display your Facebook friends status, show your post and notificaton at your Wordpress admin dashboard. With this method, you can find these updates without login to your Facebook account.

Add To Facebook

Add To Facebook is a simple plugin that will add a link at the bottom of the current location, so readers can easily share the article with a friend on Facebook.

Remember that new pages usually take one week or more to get indexed by search engines, so that by the time your single post page gets indexed the post will already be out of the homepage, and it will be displayed as an excerpt, removing the duplicate content issue.

Apart from SEO benefits this change might also improve the user experience. Displaying only post excerpts on the subsequent pages will make it easier for readers to scan them quickly while searching for the post that they are looking for.

How does the plugin work?

wpSLEEP enables you to schedule everything on your site by just writing the following tags around your content in combination with the date or time:

Ad Management

I recently got a request for an ad on Knowtebook. The advertiser wanted to book a whole year and pay in advance. Awesome I thought, but wait… how would I would I keep on track as other advertiser will come and it will be more complex? There was a time for an ad management tool, but most of them didnt fit for me. I started to make a simple Excel sheet, but were not happy with it as well. With this plugin you can easily define start and end times for your ads and insert it around you text or image links. After one year it will automatically be removed from your site.

Example

The advertisement is booked from the 1st of january for the whole year and it will be removed right at midnight without any doings. Pleace notice that the plugin is written in german and thus the dates are written in that way.

Now imagine you have a request for a new advertisement starting on the 1st of january. You can either go into office on your holidays or use wpSLEEP. The following ad has a future date and thus not visible until the new year.

So in the end you have easily replaced automatically your ad without any big efforts and can concentrate on new work.

Time related contests

During the olympic games this year a client wanted to make a special contest. The deadline for joining was at sunday night on 0 o’clock. Uff… actually I wanted to take the weekend off and travel a bit around. Now I had to make an entry in my calendar and stay up untill midnight. Nice! The other way was to search for a php solution and make some if clauses combined with date functions. With wpSLEEP it all is so much easier. Just enter the time schedule and go to bed
