Spambots and badly behaving bots seem to be all the rage this year. While it will be very hard to block all of them, you can do a lot to keep most of the comment spammers away from your blog and scrapers from harvesting your site.

Spambots also have to identify as user agents on servers, so that people gathered their “names” in the long run. There are a bunch more, but blocking to many may cause the server to slow down. Here we go. Just follow this simple steps to reduce your spam attacks!

Thumbnail Viewer plugin for WordPress is simply used to overlay images on a page, similar to Lightbox JS. The javascript is from the Image Thumbnail Viewer code from DynamicDrive. The javascript included in Thumbnail Viewer from DynamicDrive is much faster than Lightbox JS, although not as feature packed, which is the entire point.

Knowtebook has relaunched - Moohaaa!

We are proudly announcing that during the last hour Knowtebook has relaunched. It took some weeks of brainstorming and hard work, but now we are better structured, designed and you have more possibilites to publish your own content and can make a lot of suggestions. A new brand (the moos) with a new design where choosen and we would like to hear some feedback from you. Shall we improve some parts of the site? What would you like to find here, ….? Tell us everything you want! We have an ear for you!

Struggling:

We recognize some problems of our flash based tag cloud in the sidebar (Update: fixed). We will try to get it work as fast as we can, since it is the main navigation through the topics. During the next days we will sort out a bunch of not relevant content with deadlinks for example. It is hard to keep the over 1000 posts updated. So be pation with us the next days, please.
