CSS: Swooshy Curly Quotes Without Images
The problem
Take a quote and render it within blockquote tags, applying big, funky and stylish curly quotes both at the beginning and the end without using any images – at all.
The traditional way
Feint background images under the text, or an image in the markup housed in a little float. Often designers only use the opening curly quote as it’s just too difficult to float a closing one. Simon Collison explains his solution!

You don’t have to sign up to be able to download our images, but they’d like you to so anyway, just so you can gain access to special features. Analytics: Piwik - open source web analytics
Piwik is a serious alternative to Google analytics. It gives interesting reports on your website visitors, your popular pages, the search engines keywords they used, the language they speak… and so much more. Get the demo.
piwik is different from the competition because:
- the features are built inside plugins: you can add new features and remove the ones you don’t need. If you are a developer, you can easily build your own plugins!
- you own your data. Piwik being installed on your server, the data is stored in your own database and you can get all the statistics using open APIs (publishing the data in many formats: xml, json, php, csv)
- the user interface is fully customizable, you can drag and drop the widgets you want to display, create the reports you want

Alles was Sie eingeben müssen, ist ein Wort nach Ihrem Belieben. Das kann Ihr Firmenname, Ihre Webadresse.de oder was Sie möchten sein. Einfach eingeben und schon wird ein Slogan ausgespuckt. Ist natürlich nicht einzigartig, je mehr den Generator verwenden, aber zum Glück erklärt sich ja der Anbieter bereit seine Dienstleistung auch individuell anzubieten.
