Flapi is an open source Flash image gallery Clever Flickr Open Source Flash Image Gallery For Your Website by Frederik Vincx, Jesse Wynants and Lev Detrez that uses the popular Flickr photo service to manage the images. You can integrate the viewer in your weblog, website or even in a Flash file to show your Flickr photo sets.

The viewer is easily customizable via an XML file that describes the various options: which pictures or sets you’d like to display, if it should be as a slideshow, the colors, if there are thumbnails and such.

API is crap. It takes too long to load anything into it and people just aren’t going to be arsed to wait that long. It needs to be loading them 1 at a time on demand.

Sure, it might work great locally or on your mega computer with your 50mbit connection, but let’s get realistic here and realise the average person is going to find it a feckin nightmare to use.

Keep it simple, show the feckin photos in standard thumbnail view without flash and make people happy, not confused and frustrated.

Hey Julie! This sounds really interesting. Let us know if you found out, cuz I think at this point it works only with pre defined images, not groups.
